Itanagar: Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Eastern Air Command Air Officer Commanding-in -Chief (AOC-in-C) Air Marshal RD Mathur visited Advance Landing Ground (ALG) at Ziro and Limking Helipad in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday.
Famous for its pine clad hills, Ziro is the oldest town in Arunachal Pradesh in lower Subansiri district.
The ALG was inaugurated on March 12, 2016.
IAF uses the ALG for Air maintenance to support Arunachal Pradesh Department of State Transport, Indian Army, Indo Tibetan Border Police and Border Roads Organization.
Air maintenance is carried out using fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
The Air Marshal was briefed about various tasks like casualty evacuation, troop deployment, troop transportation, and provision of supply to forward posts being undertaken by the IAF from ALG Ziro, Tezpur-based Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Harsh Wardhan Pande said.
He was also briefed on various infrastructure works being undertaken.
The air officer interacted with the AF and ITBP personnel.
The Air Marshal also visited Limking helipad being maintained by Indian Army where he interacted with the personnel of the force.
