A total of 62 air warriors will be awarded gallantry and distinguished awards on the occasion of 70th Republic Day on Friday.
On the occasion, six Param Vishist Seva Medal (PVSM), 12 Ati Vishist Seva Medal (AVSM), two Vayu Sena Medal (gallantry), 14 Vayu Sena Medal (distinguished services) and 28 Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) will be awarded to the personnel of Indian Air Force (IAF).
Air Marshal Hemant Sharma, Air Marshal Sardar Harpal Singh, Air Marshal Balkrishnan Suresh, Air Marshal Raghunath Nambiar among others to be conferred PVSM by President Ramnath Kovind.
While AVSM will be awarded to Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar, Air Marshal Amit Tiwari, Air Marshal Amit Dev among others.
Indian Air Force (IAF) officer Wing Commander Bhuvanendran Nair Prasanth will be awarded with Vayu Sena Medal (VSM) for his daring act while undertaking rescue mission during Kerala flood devastation last year.
