New Delhi: Amid the ongoing border standoff with China, top commanders of Indian Air Force will discuss the situation on the line of actual control in eastern Ladakh and rapid operational station of the Rafale combat aircraft arriving later this month.
The three-day-long Air Force Commanders’ Conference will start on July 22 to carry out an in-depth review of the air-defence system.
The focus would be to deliberate on the overall situation eastern Ladakh and on ways to enhance the IAF’s combat prowess over the country’s air space in all sensitive sectors along the de facto border with China including in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Uttarakhand, sources in the Air Force said.
The commanders are also expected to discuss on station of first batch of six Rafale jets in the Ladakh sector by early next month, the sources said.
The fighter jets are expected to arrive by July 29, the sources said.
“The commanders will also review the evolving security architecture in the region and ways to boost IAF’s combat capability,” said an Air Force source.
The conference will be chaired by the chief of air staff, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria. The defence minister, Rajnath Singh, is also expected to address the IAF commanders.
