Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Saturday visited the border area of Dimapur-based Spear Corps along the Line of Actual control.
The army chief also visited Taksing and other forwards areas in Arunachal Pradesh and reviewed the operational preparedness of the formations, Kohima Defence PRO Col C Konwer said.
The Chief was accompanied by Eastern Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lt Gen Abhay Krishna and Spear Corps General Officer Commanding Lt Gen Gopal R.
Gen Rawat also took stock of prevailing security situation in the areas.
He also appreciated his men for ensuring peace and tranquility in the region and also improving employment opportunities for the local populace.
