Army discuss evolution of artificial intelligence in medicine

In order to stay relevant at the dawn of a new era of human civilisation, deputy chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Medical) Lt Gen CS Narayanan on Saturday highlighted the vital importance of medical professionals to keep pace with the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and related technologies.
He was speaking at a symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine which was organised by HQ Integrated Defence Staff (Medical) under the aegis of DGAFMS at Army Hospital (Research and Referral) here.
Director General Armed Forces Medical Services Lt Gen Bipin Puri elaborated on the various measures taken to ensure that the Armed Forces Medical Services leverage these emerging technologies to streamline delivery of optimal care to a dependant population of close to 10 million people.
The top management and Innovation heads of Accenture and SAP in India were also invited to demystify Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Analytics to a galaxy of medical professionals and senior officers of the Armed Forces Medical Services.
A roadmap for implementation of these technologies in day to day practice which would make it relevant to every stakeholder was also discussed in a special session.
