Indian, African nations armies reach into final stage for modalities of IAFTX

In an effort to synergyzing human mine action and joint peace operations, the Indian Army and delegates from African nations armies have reached into the final stage for modalities of the Indian Africa Field Training Exercise (IAFTX)-2019.
The exercise is expected to be held from March 18-27 at Aundh Military Station and College of Military Engineering in Pune.
“The final planning conference to work out the modalities for Indian Africa Field Training Exercise (IAFTX)-2019 is being conducted at Pune on January 23-24. Delegates from Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan, South Africa, Tanzania, Namibia, Mozambique, Uganda, Niger & Zambia attended the conference,” Indian Army spokesperson Col C Konwer said.
The joint training exercise is being conducted with more than a dozen African countries and India.
The initial planning conference for the exercise was held in December 2018.
The IAFTX-2019 is a positive step towards growing political and military ties with the member nations of African continent and will boost the already strong strategic cooperation between the countries.
