Udhampur: The Indian Army has always been on the frontline in ensuring the safety and security of India.
With the outbreak of the Corona Pandemic the country faced challenges of an unprecedented nature.
Rising to the occasion the health workers, doctors, nurses, civil officials, conservancy staff and the police have been on the frontline of the COVID19 response in the country so far.
As an expression of solidarity & gratitude to these corona warriors, the Army garrison at Udhampur, felicitated all the agencies involved in the fight against COVID-19 by organizing Military Pipe Band Displays as a token of appreciation and goodwill gesture on the 3rd May 2020 at multiple locations in the station.
The events organized were a Salute to the unflinching spirit of the corona warriors who have worked with utter disregard to own safety and contributed towards the national effort to contain the Pandemic.
To applaud them the Army Pipe Band performed at multiple places in Udhampur town including the Ommand Hospital Udhampur and the Roun Domel Police Station.
Banners with encouraging slogans were displayed and senior army officials greeted and interacted with counterparts from the other agencies. Sweets were also distributed to doctors, policemen and conservancy staff.
Speaking on the occasion, a senior army official informed that similar functions were being organised across the country. It was the Army’s way of acknowledging the efforts of those who are in the forefront of this very different kind of war. India has been able to effectively contain the COVID-19 due to the tireless efforts of these courageous corona warriors who have led from the front in these challenging times.
“Our Armed Forces reaffirm the resolve to fight the Pandemic in a synergized manner with the civil authorities in order to protect the Awaam & ensure their safety. It is this unity of purpose because of which India has fared much better than most of the countries in the fight against COVID 19.”
