Kumaon Regiment’s 4th Battalion gets Unit Appreciation from Nagaland Governor

New Delhi: 4th Battalion of The Kumaon Regiment was awarded the Unit Appreciation from Nagaland Governor RN Ravi at Raj Bhawan in Kohima for it's tenure in Mon District during 2017-19.

”In recognition of the admirable professional standards achieved by the unit during its tenure, I am pleased to award Governor of Nagaland Letter of Appreciation to 4th Battalion, The Kumaon Regiment,” Nagaland Governor RN Ravi said in the letter.

The battalion not only assisted the civil administration  in stabilizing the volatile security situations but also worked towards social upliftment and society building in the area of responsibility in the most challenging environment, a defence official said.

The Battalion was instrumental in peaceful conduct of 13th Nagaland State Assembly Election 2018 in Mon District under volatile security situation thereby restoring deteriorating situation to normalcy in short duration.

The Battalion set an excellent example of professional competence and dedication towards nation building by executing various Civic Action Projects in the remote areas of Mon District and building  positive image of the Indian army during its tenure in Nagaland, the official added.
