Become part of India’s growth story: Rajnath Singh to UK companies

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh suggested his counterpart from the United Kingdom Ben Wallace on Tuesday that the UK companies should become part of India’s growth story and participate in co-development and co-production in the country.

The Narendra Modi government has been focussing on Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative aimed at to manufacture defence equipment in the country.  

The two ministers also reviewed the ongoing defence cooperation between their countries and expressed satisfaction at their bilateral military-to-military engagements, over phone.

Stating that the conversation was cordial, positive and focused on future growth of the bilateral defence relationship, the ministry of defence in a statement said that the two ministers also discussed a wide range of defence and security issues, including regional developments and the Indo-Pacific.

The two defence ministers also discussed ways to enhance defence industrial cooperation and identified a few potential areas of cooperation.
