Military leaders must adapt to changing warfare, stresses CDS General Anil Chauhan

Wellington, Tamil Nadu: The chief of defence staff, General Anil Chauhan emphasized the need for military leaders to adapt to the rapidly evolving nature of warfare. The CDS, while delivering his speech at the event themed “Future Leaders of the Indian Armed Forces” at Defence Services Staff College here, on Friday, underscored the importance of inter-services cooperation in meeting the challenges of the modern battlefield.

Earlier during his visit, Gen Chauhan was briefed by the commandant of the DSSC on the ongoing training activities at the college, with a focus on fostering jointmanship and inter-services awareness. He also discussed the transformative reforms implemented in the Indian military in response to emerging security challenges.

The DSSC is currently hosting the 79th Staff Course, which spans a period of 45 weeks. This particular course has a diverse group of 476 student officers, including 36 students from 26 different friendly foreign nations. Notably, this is the first time in the course where eight women officers are also taking part.
