Beating Retreat concludes 75th Republic Day celebrations with mesmerizing music

New Delhi: The 75th Republic Day celebrations came to an end with the Beating Retreat ceremony concluding at sunset on Monday at the capital’s Vijay Chowk. The ceremony was attended by the president Droupadi Murmu; vice-president, Jagdeep Dhankar; prime minister, Narendra Modi; chief justice of India, Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud; and several other dignitaries.



The ceremony showcased India’s military pageantry and musical expertise, encompassing the massed bands of the armed forces’ three services – Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force – and the central armed police forces.



Various martial music, patriotic tunes, and popular melodies were performed during the event. The audience was regaled with a repertoire of captivating Indian tunes by the bands of the Indian military and the CAPFs. The event started with the evocative “Shankhnaad” tune, followed by soul-stirring melodies, like “Arjuna”, “Bhagirathi”, “Deshon Ka Sartaj Bharat”, “Faulad Ka Jigar”, “Sangam Dur”, “Tiger Hill”, “Veer Bharat”, etc. The bands ended their captivating display with “Sare Jahan se Acha”.



Lieutenant Colonel Vimal Joshi was the principal conductor of the ceremony.
