Srinagar: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday visited a forward post near the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara and reviewed the counter-infiltration grid.
Mr Singh, who was accompanied by Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General M M Naravane, visited the North Hill post in Keran sector and interacted with the soldiers deployed there, official sources said here on Saturday.

They said the Defence Minister was briefed about the counter-infiltration gird and overall situation along the LoC, where Pakistan has been frequently targeting forward posts and civilian areas.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, Mr Singh said, “Visited a forward post near LoC in Kupwara District of Jammu-Kashmir Saturday and interacted with the soldiers deployed there. “We are extremely proud of these brave and courageous soldiers who are defending our country in every situation,” he added.
