New Delhi: India on Thursday rebuffed China for objecting to the visit of Indian leaders to a state of the country as it does not stand to reason and understanding of the Indian people.
Asked about Beijing's objection to the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Arunachal Pradesh, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar pointed out that Indian leaders routinely travel to Arunachal Pradesh as they do to any other states of the country.
“Our position on Arunachal Pradesh is clear and consistent. Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India,'' he told journalists during a media briefing here.
China's Foreign Ministry had, earlier in the day, opposed the visit of Union Home Minister, saying it violated China's territorial sovereignty.
