New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday met with Chinese Communist Party Politburo Member and Guangdong Party Secretary Li Xi here.
Both the leaders discussed bilateral ties and on steps to take forward the India-China economic relations, MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
In last few days, Dr Jaishankar has held talks with a number of important world leaders and foreign ministers of countries like Japan and France over phone when they called him to compliment him over his appointment as foreign minister.
"Had a cordial conversation with the French Foreign Minister J YLe Drian to look forward to and do in our already strong and successful strategic partnership with France," Dr Jaishankar tweeted.
He also had a "warm conversation" with Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu and Japanese foreign minister Taro Kono.
"We agreed to be in regular contact and take the Modi-Abe vision forward," Dr Jaishankar wrote.
