India, Bulgaria ink 4 MoUs

India and Bulgaria, on Wednesday, inked four MoUs, including on investment and establishment of a Hindi chair at Sofia University in Sofia. "President Kovind and President Rumen Radev witnessed signing of four MoUs between India and Bulgaria on investment, tourism, civil nuclear cooperation and establishment of Hindi chair at Sofia University," ministry of external affairs (MEA) spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted. He also said that a programme of cooperation seeking to enhance scientific cooperation was also signed. Referring to bilateral talks between the two presidents, the MEA spokesman said President Kovind also invited Bulgarian companies to become a key partner of India in defence and IT sectors under the "Make in India" programme. Meanwhile, in a statement, Kovind said that in the discussions, both the presidents also shared thoughts on regional and global issues.  "We agreed to intensify our multilateral cooperation to address climate change, sustainable development and terrorism. I thanked President Radev for his support for an early adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism at the United Nations. We agreed that terrorism poses a grave threat to humanity and a strong global response was urgently required to deal with the menace," the president said. "I also thanked him for supporting India’s claim for a permanent seat in the United Nations security council and for our membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group," Kovind said.
