New Delhi: India on Wednesday assured Ethiopia of India’s support in ensuring supplies of essential medicines and and ameliorating the economic impact of the pandemic.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday had a phone call his Ethiopian counterpart Abiy Ahmed Ali and discussed the domestic, regional and global challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
They expressed solidarity with each other during the health crisis.
During their telephonic discussion, the prime minister recalled the close ties between India and Ethiopia and the excellent development partnership between the two nations, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement..
Mr Modi on behalf of Indian citizens and on his own behalf, wished the people of Ethiopia success in the fight against Covid-19.
On Tuesday, he had spoken with his counterpart from Portugal Antonio Costa on phone and discussed the fallout of COVID-19.
The prime minister had commended him for his effective handling of the crisis.
