New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday had a telephonic conversation for 20 minutes to discuss ways to enhance bilateral ties between two countries.
In a tweet, Modi said: "Spoke with PM @netanyahu and discussed ways to strengthen the multifaceted India-Israel friendship, deepen our focus on innovation partnership, and our ongoing cooperation in defence and security."

The Israeli PMO said: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke this afternoon with Indian Prime Minister @narendramodi; the call lasted approximately 20 minutes. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen the close and important relations between Israel and India."

This was their second conversation over the phone since Netanyahu became the prime minister for six terms.
During their previous discussions, the two prime ministers had discussed how to advance their countries' "strategic partnership".
Recently, the two countries marked 30 years of full diplomatic relations.
India gained independence in 1947 while Israel in 1948.
