Tashkent: The next meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states' heads of governments will be held in India for the first time, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov said on Saturday.
“We agreed that the next council meeting of the SCO member states' heads of governments will be held in India, which will chair our organisation's Council of Heads of Government for the first time,” Mr Aripov said.
He also congratulated the Indian partners on 'accepting this responsible mission' during the SCO meeting in Tashkent.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh who was present at the Council Of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) members said, India is honoured to host the next meeting of Council of Heads of Government in 2020.
In the run up to the meeting, he said, India is planning to organise a series of events aimed at enhancing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation among SCO Members.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov, Prime Ministers and Heads of Delegation of SCO Member States, Secretary-General of SCO Vladimir Norov and Executive Director of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) Jumakhon Giyosov also participated in the meeting.
