New Delhi: 2000-batch Indian Foreign Service Officer Pratibha Parkar was appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Angola.
Presently, she is serving as the Consul General of India in Frankfurt of Germany and expected to take up the assignment shortly, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
Ms Parkar had commenced her diplomatic career in the Embassy of India, Moscow.
Later, she worked as First Secretary in the Embassy of India in Jakarta of Indonesia and as Counsellor in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York.
The 2000-batch IFS officer also worked in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi as Under Secretary for Myanmar (2006-2008) and as Director for Bangladesh and Myanmar (2014-2017).
She joined as Consul General of India Frankfurt on 3 August 2017.
