New Delhi: After visiting iconic Taj Mahal in Agra of Uttar Pradesh, US President Donald Trump on Monday arrived in the national capital.

He will receive ceremonial Guard of Hounour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and pay his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat here on Tuesday.

He will also witness the three billion dollars defence deal between both the nations.

While visiting the Taj Mahal he said it is a living example of India's rich and diverse culture.

Mr Trump, who arrived here on Monday on a two-day visit to India, spent almost an hour in the Taj Mahal complex along with several family members and stole the unique monument of love from every corner.

He and First Lady Melania Trump posed for photographs before the 17th century mausoleum in their maiden trip to the country.

The US President wrote in the visitor's log book at the Taj Mahal that the 17th century mausoleum “inspires awe, a timeless testament to rich beauty of Indian culture.”

Earlier, Mr Trump had expressed respect for India and its national language by tweeting one after the other in the Hindi language.

On reaching Ahmedabad in Gujarat, he had earlier tweeted, “First lady and I have come here after travelling 8000 miles around the world to give a message to every citizen of this country.”
