New Delhi: The navies of India and Saudi Arabia conducted their second edition of bilateral exercise “Al Mohed Al Hindi” between May 23 and May 25 off the coast of Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
From the Indian Navy, Talwar-class frigate INS Tarkash, Sukanya-class patrol vessel INS Subhadra and a Dornier maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) participated in the exercise. From the from the Royal Saudi Naval Force, Badr-class corvette HMS Badr and Abdul Aziz, an MH 60R helicopter and a UAV took part in the drill.
The three-day exercise at sea witnessed a wide spectrum of maritime operations. It culminated with debrief at sea followed by traditional steam past.
The successful conduct of “Al Mohed Al Hindi – 2023” showcased high degree of professionalism, interoperability, and exchanges of best practises between the two navies, the Indian Navy said. It added that the bilateral exercise met all its objectives and both sides intend to graduate to more advanced level of exercises in the next edition.
