Aiming to enhance the maritime cooperation and bolster India’s strong bonds of friendship with Thailand and Malaysia, the Indian Navy deployed its two warships on a 4-day mission based deployment to South East Asia.
Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet ships Shakti and Sahyadri under the Command of The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi would be entering the port of Sattahip, Thailand on May 13, as a part of deployment of the Eastern Fleet to South East Asia, the Indian Navy said in a statement.
INS Shakti is commanded by Captain SA Joglekar while INS Sahyadri is commanded by Captain Shantanu Jha.
Meanwhile, INS Kamorta, an indigenously constructed warship, which is part of the ‘Eastern Fleet Ships’ on the overseas deployment would arrive at the port of Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia on the same day.
INS Kamorta is commanded by Cdr Saikat Chaterjee. The ship too would be in the port for four days.
During the visit, the IN Ships would have professional interaction with the Royal Thai Navy and Royal Malaysian Navy respectively, towards further enhancing cooperation between the Navies.
