Mumbai: A total of 70 warships, six submarines and 75 aircraft participated in the Indian Navy’s largest exercise TROPEX, which culminated in the Arabian Sea on March 4.
The largest-ever Indian Navy’s wargame for 2023 began in November last year and conducted all across the Indian Ocean Region.
During their four months exercise, coastal defence exercise Sea Vigil and the amphibious exercise AMPHEX were conducted.
Men and machine from the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force and the Coast Guard also participated in the TROPEX exercise.
In its last phase of the joint exercise, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also witnessed and sailed onboard the newly commissioned Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant on March 6.
He also reviewed the Navy’s operational preparedness and material readiness.
The Navy demonstrated operational manoeuvers and various facets of combat operations, including deck operations of indigenous light combat aircraft (LCA) and live weapon firings.
