New Delhi: The navies of India and Sri Lanka have begun their annual bilateral maritime exercise SLINEX-2023 at Colombo from April
The 6-day exercise is being conducted in two phases —- harbour and sea. It is the 10th edition of the exercise.
From Indian Navy side, INS Kiltan, an indigenous Kamorta class anti-submarine warfare corvette and INS Savitri, an Offshore Patrol Vessel are participating in the wargame while SLNS Gajabahu and SLNS Sagara from Sri Lankan Navy side.
Besides, the maritime patrol aircraft, choppers, and Special Forces from both the sides are also participating in the exercise.
The previous edition of SLINEX was conducted off Visakhapatnam from March 07-12, 2022
“SLINEX aims at enhancing interoperability, improving mutual understanding and exchanging best practices while jointly undertaking multi-faceted maritime operations,” Indian Navy PRO Commander Vivek Madhwal said.
