Itanagar: Indian Army personnel has rescued two women from drowning at Siyom and Pitgong rivers at West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
As per the locals, the women were trapped at the junction of the rivers because of a sudden increase in the water level of both the rivers near Kaying Village.
The villagers informed the local unit of Indian Army, a team was immediately deployed to launch the rescue operation to save the women.
Guwahati-based defence PRO in a tweet said, ‘‘#IndianArmy Rescue Team bravely rescued two stranded local women from drowning in Siyom River near Kaying Village, West Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh on 04 November 2020.’’
