Kolkata: Urging all to join in a movement “War against Cancer”, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Choubey on Thursday said having balanced diet and regular yoga exercise could help in staying disease-free.
The minister was speaking at the “Wellness Conclave”, being organised at India International Science Festival (IISF) here and said every year around 11 lakh cases of cancer detected which is a matter of concern.
Mr Choubey said, “You can stay healthy if you have balanced diet and do yoga regularly. With change in lifestyle, people are get to suffer with different kinds of diseases.”
Stating Cancer as a major challenge, the minister said, “Due to its detection at advance stage, someone dies at every eight minutes. There is a need to have advanced research on it so that it can be detected at initial stage.”
Further, he added that a research is going on at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Chennai.
