Shillong: Indian Army’s Director General (Recruiting) Lt Gen PC Nair was called on Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on his visit to Shillong.
During their meeting, they discussed the plans to conduct the rallies in other parts of the state like Jowai (West Jaintia Hills), allowing youth from wider cross-sections of the state to avail the opportunity of joining the Indian Army.
Sangma was apprised of the effect of the Covid-19 pandemics on the recruitment activities all across the Indian Army.
Lt Gen Nair informed that recruitment has commenced all across the country and also about the forthcoming recruitment drive in the Meghalaya at Shillong, in April.
He expressed gratitude towards the State Government for the support of previous recruitment rallies in the State.
The chief minister assured the DG the full support from the State Government as it benefits the youth of the State in shaping their future. The meeting was also attended by Brig NS Jadhav, DDG Recruiting (North East States) and Col Saket Suman, Dir Recruiting (North East States).
