New Delhi: Indian community in Ireland celebrated Diwali (festival of lights) a couple of days ago at the Kilcurry Resource Centre in Dundalk.
The festival was celebrated under the banner of Krishna Academy of Social Sciences Ireland (KASSI).
The event was started with Ganesh Vandana and Gayatri Mantra recited by young children and Lakshmi puja and lighting the diwali diyas were performed by the Guests and KASSI Diwali Team.
Dr Dilip Mahapatra (Chairperson), Dr. Pardeep Sayal (Secretary), and Mr. Durgesh Tiwari (Treasurer), welcomed the distinguished guests, Mr. Fergus O’Dowd, Member of Irish Parliament from County Louth, the Police inspectors Mr. Darren Kirwan & Kate Patterson, Mrs. Supriya Singh, Mr. Rajesh Joshi, Dr. Deepak Kumar and Mrs. Neha Bisht, from different Indian groups from Dublin also attended our celebrations.
Highlights of the event were the Fashion show, English Songs, Tamil Beats dance, Traditional Classical fusion Dance, Hip Hop, Irish dance, Indian Classical Bharatanatyam Dance, Lithuanian Group Dance and Memories Band.
In the fashion show young children wearing different Indian state costume depicted diversity in Indian society.
“Thanks to the hard work done by Sonal Shrivastava, Shilpi Srivastava and their team. Bingo, Antakshri, Fireworks and DJ Dance excited everyone in and outside the hall,” a KASSI member said.
“The entire event was possible due to the whole hearted participation of our directors and volunteers which included Sonal Shrivastava, Ravikant Pandey, Rishi Sobrun, Pujan Srivastava, Pankaj Samuel, Manju Roy, Kavneet Kainth, Sachin, Vighnesh, Jayesh Mistry, Surovit Roy, Sahil Kohli and Other members.”
The Rangoli, stage decorations, our Kassi Selfy Booth and all event setup, all were designed & prepared with beautiful flowers and lovely Rangoli Colours by Kassi Ladies group Sonal Shrivastava, Shilpi Srivastava, Nikita Dhadwal, Kritika, Sanjita Roy, Shikha Pandey, Rinku Tiwari, Kinjal Mistry, Shushma Santhosh, Sowmya Shrivastava, Priyanshi kumari, Steffi Chako, Narendran Sadasivam, Dr Dhara Mishra, Kavneet kainth, Kamal Kainth and Adele sobrun.
A vote of thanks was given by Durgesh Tiwari and Indian Dinner was served from Sitar restaurant.
