Agra: Fascinated by the beauty of the Taj Mahal, a unique monument of unmatched love, US President Donald Trump said it is a living example of India's rich and diverse culture.

Mr Trump, who arrived here on Monday on a two-day visit to India, spent almost an hour in the Taj Mahal complex along with several family members at the unique monument of love, viewing it from every corner.

While Mr. Trump was receiving information about the precious heritage from wife Melania and the guide, his daughter Ivanka was eager to eye the beauty of the Taj with her husband Jared Kushner.

Upon arriving at the Taj Mahal complex, Mr Trump wrote his message in the visitor's book, "The Taj Mahal inspires and amazes us. It cannot be tied in time. The Taj is a living example of India's rich and diverse culture. Thank you India."

He and First Lady Melania Trump posed for photographers before the 17th century mausoleum in their maiden trip to the country.

The US President wrote in the visitor's log book at the Taj Mahal that the 17th century mausoleum "inspires awe, a timeless testament to rich beauty of Indian culture."

On the other hand, Ivanka and her husband held hands, soaking in the beauty of the Taj. During this time, he took many photos of the Taj.

Earlier, Mr Trump had expressed respect for India and its national language by tweeting one after the other in the Hindi language.

On reaching Gujarat, he had earlier tweeted, "First lady and I have come here after travelling 8000 miles around the world to give a message to every citizen of this country."

Reaching Agra ‪at 1704 hrs‬, barely six hours after touching down on Indian soil at Ahmedabad this morning, the US couple logged many miles to visit Agra, home of one of the world's greatest monuments.

Mr Trump, his wife, daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner took a round of Taj Mahal.

In Agra, President Trump met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who presented a large portrait of 'Taj Mahal' to the Trump couple as they departed for Delhi.

The American President, who is in India on a two-day visit that concludes ‪on February 25‬, is expected to make a few announcements over India-US defence and trade deals.

Earlier, hinting to strengthen the warmth and strength in relations with India, Mr Trump tweeted before entering the Taj Mahal, "America and India will strengthen their countries, enrich their people, make big dreamers You will make it bigger and make your future brighter than
ever ... and this is only the beginning."

The first couple was welcomed at Agra's Kheria Airport by Governor Anandiben Patel and U P Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Artistes entertained the special guests with folk dances and cultural performances and gave them a taste of the diversity of the country.

Interestingly, this might be his first visit to India but Mr Trump has an old connect with the country as the proud owner of a casino named Taj Mahal in the US.

Now the First Family of the US is scheduled to visit Delhi for the final leg of the 36-hour India tour.

Earlier, PM Modi and President Trump addressed a gathering of over 1 lakh people during ‘Namaste Trump’ event in Motera Stadium in Ahemadabad.

Ahead of the US first couple visit to the world-famous monument, IG Agra Zone A Satish Ganesh said all available technology had been deployed for security besides an emergency plan to handle any eventualities.

India and the US are natural partners, Mr Trump said, adding "India, US friendship long live, long live."
