New Delhi: In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the veterans can seek treatment at any of the service, empanelled and government Hospitals nominated as COVID-19 hospitals and if there is any charge incurred that would be reimbursed also.

There are 122 government approved labs all over the country to test the coronavirus cases. Out of which, 113 are operational while others are in process.

Around 47 private labs are approved to carry out testing process. Maharashtra has the highest number of approved private labs i.e. 10 while Delhi and Telangana have 8 labs each.

There were rumours that the Base Hospital at Delhi Cantt and ECHS empanelled hospital are not providing COVID-19 treatment to veterans.

“Presently there are 24 all rank veterans and dependents of veterans undergoing treatment at the Base Hospital,” the Indian Army Veterans said.

A COVID-19 helpline number of the Base Hospital Delhi and all Regional Commands have been updated on the Veterans Portal, a veteran said.

Along with, the Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) has also nominated Covid Nodal Officers across the country.

“In the Delhi-NCR areas, there are 15 officers deployed for this purpose whose names, contacts numbers and email ids are given on the ECHS Portal,” the veteran added.

“Veterans are requested not to pay heed to uncorroborated messages from non-official sources as most of these are meant to create confusion and generate dissatisfaction,” Indian Army spokesperson Col Aman Anand said.
