India, Russia ink 8 pacts

India and Russia on Friday signed eight agreements in a score of field that included human spaceflight programme, railways, nuclear field, transport education, among others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin witnessed the signing in ceremony between both the nations. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov signed the agreement on protocol for consultations between the foreign affairs ministry of both the countries for the period 2019-2023. Other agreements included between the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and the Russian Small and Medium Business Corporation (RSMB) on cooperation in the field of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, fertilizers sector between the Russian Direct Investment Fund, PJSC Phosagro (PhosAgro) and Indian Potash Limited (IPL), an official statement said.
