Sitharaman to celebrate Diwali with troops in Arunachal Pradesh

Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman will celebrate Diwali with troops at one of forward army posts in Arunachal Pradesh, the bordering state with China. According to the sources in the Defence ministry, “The Raksha Mantri will visit Arunachal Pradesh on November 6 and celebrate Diwali with the soldiers. She will return back to Delhi on next day.” On her two-day visit to the North Eastern state, Sitharaman will also review the operational preparedness and related issues of the forces. The minister will also interact with the family members of the soldiers and officers. Last year, she had visited strategically important tri-service command in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to celebrate the festival.
