The government on Thursday appointed High Commissioner of India to Kenya Suchitra Durai as the next Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand.
The ministry of external affairs in a statement said she is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
Ms Durai is a 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer.
Prior to her current assignment, she was the Director General of the Division dealing with Sri Lanka, Maldives and the Indian Ocean Region in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi from 2014-2015.
From 2012 to 2014 she was Director General for Consular Affairs.
